Sporting swept rivals St. Louis CITY SC in the Audi 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs to reach the Western Conference Semifinals and the club's top four players in goal contributions from last season all return in 2024 with Daniel Salloi (10 goals, 12 assists), Alan Pulido (15 goals, six assists), Erik Thommy (five goals, 13 assists) and Johnny Russell (nine goals, four assists) forming a formidable front four.

Pulido, the club's MVP with a team-leading 15 goals in 2023, and Thommy, the club's Offensive Player of the Year with a team-leading 13 assists in 2023, provide SKC with a dynamic duo of playmakers in the No. 9 and No. 10 roles while Russell and Salloi have become two of the most productive wingers in MLS over their last six seasons together.

After entering Major League Soccer as an expansion team in 2020, Inter Miami CF will travel to Kansas City for the first time in club history to play Sporting KC on April 13 as one of the team's three Western Conference road trips during the 2024 regular season along with LA and Vancouver. Inter Miami is coming off a memorable campaign in which the club qualified for the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup as winners of Leagues Cup 2023 and The Herons also finished runners-up in the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Led by co-owner David Beckham, Miami's roster features the four most accomplished newcomers in Major League Soccer in the past six months with Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba reunited after winning the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Champions League as teammates for FC Barcelona from 2014-2020. Messi, the consensus best player in the world currently, recently won his record eighth Ballon d'Or and is the only two-time recipient of the Golden Ball as the top performer at a FIFA World Cup, earning the honor again in 2022 after captaining Argentina to the title with seven goals – including two in a historic final against France – during the tournament.

The April 13 match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT exclusively on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Available in more than 100 countries and regions and offering the most expansive programming lineup ever, MLS Season Pass is the first global streaming service to offer every match across a professional league in one dedicated destination.
