Chiefs Name Tyler Kirby as the Club's First Chief Revenue Officer

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On Friday, the Kansas City Chiefs announced that Tyler Kirby has been promoted to Chief Revenue Officer and Executive Vice President.

"After conducting a thorough national search in which we interviewed numerous talented and qualified applicants for our open partnership executive role, we are thrilled to name our own Tyler Kirby as the club's first Chief Revenue Officer," Chiefs President Mark Donovan said. "Assembling, developing, and retaining a talented staff is one of our priorities. Promoting Tyler from within is not only a recognition of the tremendous work he's done throughout his tenure, but it's also an acknowledgement of the opportunity for our existing staff who will be under his leadership as they continue executing our partnership development and service strategy on a daily basis."

Kirby is in his 18th season with the franchise, most recently serving four years as the club's Executive Vice President of Business Development where he oversaw all aspects of the team's ticketing, premium, and hospitality sales efforts, client services, and performance marketing.

As the club's first Chief Revenue Officer, Kirby will continue his leadership of the club's business development efforts and will add oversight of the existing staff that leads new business, renewals, activation, and service for corporate partnerships, as well as local broadcast partner rights. In addition, his team will continue leading all partnership efforts related to the club's international commercialization strategy as part of the NFL's Global Markets Program.

"The past 18 seasons with the Chiefs have been an incredible experience for my family and me and have allowed countless opportunities for growth both personally and professionally," Kirby said. "I've been very fortunate to work alongside a great team and have tremendous support from the Hunt family, and I'm honored to expand my role to support our corporate partners and the internal team that delivers the service and solutions they need and deserve."

In his time with the Chiefs, Kirby has risen through the ranks of the club's business operations team after originally being hired as a Ticket Sales Representative in 2008. He served as Ticket Sales Manager (2011-12), Director of Ticket Sales and Operations (2013-16), Vice President of Ticketing (2017-20), Vice President of Business Development (2021) and was named the Executive Vice President of Business Development in May 2022.

During his tenure with the team, the club consistently ranked as a league leader in ticketing while he strengthened the club's digital marketing efforts and used data and technology to transform the way the team connects with individuals, markets to fans, and grows Chiefs Kingdom. He has been instrumental in leading numerous initiatives at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, including the introduction of new premium offerings, and serves across multiple committees and working groups at the NFL level.

Kirby received his bachelor's degree in marketing and business administration from Illinois State University and received his MBA in marketing from the Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. He was named a Sports Business Journal Forty Under 40 honoree in 2024, reflecting his status as a rising star among sports business professionals. Kirby is an alumnus of the KC Chamber's Centurions Leadership Program after serving a two-year term from 2017-18 and sits on the board of the YMCA of Greater Kansas City.

The Kansas City Chiefs retained Excel Search & Advisory to lead the search for the organization's Chief Revenue Officer.
