Kansas City Chiefs Official Team Website | Chiefs.com
For three decades, the Kansas City Chiefs and NFL have recognized outstanding coaches across the Kansas City area. Today, the Coach of the Week honor presented by Uncrustables highlights high school tackle and youth flag football head coaches both for their accomplishments on the field and their mentorship of athletes off of the field. Explore all Coach of the Week winners below.
2026 Missouri Coach of the Week
Head Coach Michael Klyce
Week 4
For Head Coach Michael Klyce, the recognition comes amid a remarkable turnaround at Central High School. Just three years ago, the Eagles football program was unable to field a varsity team because of low enrollment and participation numbers. Following the program's return in 2024, Klyce has helped lead Central into a new era of stability and success.
Head Coach Anthony Morgan
Week 3
Under Morgan's leadership, Raytown has opened their 2026 campaign with a perfect 4-0 record (3-0 district play). The strong start comes after Morgan's first season at the helm in 2025, when the Bluejays finished 7-5 overall and advanced to the district semifinals.
Head Coach Dan Joiner
Week 2
After a tough opening-week loss, Joiner rallied his North Kansas City Hornets football team to back-to-back road victories. The defining moment of their young season came last Friday, Sept. 11, when the team traveled to face the Liberty North Eagles. Under Joiner's guidance, the Hornets executed a flawless game plan to secure a gritty 28-14 win, moving their overall record to 2-1. This feat marked North Kansas City's first win over Liberty North in school history.
Head Coach Benny Palmer
Week 1
Head Coach Benny Palmer has Lee's Summit West off to a strong 2-0 start, with their most recent win coming in a 31-21 over Park Hill on Sept. 4. The Titans are currently ranked No. 20 in the state of Missouri (No. 11 Missouri Division 6, No. 11 Kansas City) as they head into a major matchup this Friday, Sept. 11, against their cross-town rivals, Lee's Summit North.
2026 Kansas Coach of the Week
Head Coach Drew Harding
Week 4
For Head Coach Harding, Louisburg's success has deep roots. Now in his fourth season as head coach, Harding is a product of the Louisburg community. He attended Louisburg schools, played football for the Wildcats, and graduated in 2010. His connection to the program spans nearly two decades, making his current role more than just a coaching position.
Head Coach Brian King
Week 3
King's Wildcats are off to a steady 3-0 (3-0 district play) record following a close 31-28 road win over the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats Friday, Sept. 18. The Wildcats amassed 154 passing yards, and 268 rushing yards. They were able to take the win on a final second field goal, handing the Bobcats their first loss of the season. De Soto also outscored their other two most recent opponents, the Seaman Vikings (Topeka) 48-34 and the West Chargers (Topeka) 77-6, at home.
Head Coach Danny Long
Week 2
In Kansas, Shawnee Mission North Head Coach Danny Long has the Bison off to a perfect 2-0 start to the 2026 season. Shawnee Mission North opened the season with a 24-6 win over the Olathe East Hawks and has since doubled its win total from 2025 with a dominant 47-0 victory over the KC Sumner Academy Sabres on Friday, Sept. 11. Through just two games, the Bison have outscored their opponents 71-6.
Head Coach Lorne Clark
Week 1
Under Head Coach Lorne Clark, Olathe Northwest has picked up right where it left off following last season's historic run to the Kansas 6A title game. The Ravens kicked off their season with a 27-0 shutout over Olathe South. The team's defense was stifling, holding the Olathe South Falcons scoreless across all four quarters, and the offense held their own behind five returning starters on the offensive line. Currently sitting at No. 18 in the Kansas Rankings (No. 8 Kansas Division 6A, No. 22 Kansas City), Clark was proud of the way his team started the season.
2026 Flag Football Coach of the Week
Head Coach Adam Barmann
Week 4
After launching just last year as a student-driven club team, the Firebirds have built an immediate culture of success, finishing their inaugural club campaign with a 10-2 record and a trip to the club-state semifinals. Following the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) vote to officially sanction girls Flag Football, Barmann has guided the program onto a much larger stage.
Head Coach Brooke Collins
Week 3
As one of the instrumental leaders of the Kansas inaugural varsity girls Flag Football season, Collins has played a significant role in building Northwest's program from the ground up and opening new doors for her players.
Head Coach Mark Western
Week 2
Western's Flag Football team at Shawnee Mission South High School is experiencing a dominant debut season, maintaining an undefeated 4-0 record. The Raiders secured early season victories with a 28-0 shutout against Olathe South and a 13-0 win over Olathe West. Most recently, Western's squad demonstrated major resilience by winning two games in a single morning, defeating Bishop Miege 21-0 before overcoming Mill Valley 20-13.
Head Coach Dustin Parks
Week 1
Just one week into their inaugural season, Head Coach Dustin Parks has led the DeSoto High School girls varsity Flag Football team into a new era. The Wildcats took the field for the first time on Sept. 2, defeating Piper High School 14-0. They claimed 12 points in the second quarter, from two touchdown efforts, though they missed both PAT conversion attempts. They later secured the final two points of their 14-0 shutout via a fourth-quarter safety.
