As the final seconds ticked away in the first half of the Kansas City Chiefs' preseason clash with the Atlanta Falcons on Friday night, quarterback Patrick Mahomes shuffled forward in the pocket before showing off the arm that's captivated a fanbase.

Kansas City's 22-year-old signal caller heaved it 69 yards, hitting wide receiver Tyreek Hill for a touchdown and consequently unleashing an outpouring of awe on social media.

Folks were impressed.

That’s the kind of throw in that will eventually help the Chiefs’ running game. Mahomes can reach Ty Hill on the deepest portions of the field. Defenses have to play soft in certain situations to account for that, opening up things underneath
