Spearheaded by Tavia Hunt, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt, the fifth annual "Chiefs Style Lounge" was the featured event Thursday night for Kansas City Fashion Week.

"When Kansas City Fashion Week approached us about this partnership, we were so excited," Tavia explained,  "because to bring the energy from the two largest fashion events in the city together for this kind of event is really exciting and very special."

As part of the partnership, the "Style Lounge" was also held at the historic Union Station for the first time in its history.

"We're really excited to be here at Union Station," Tavia added. "The energy is amazing. We're going to have a full house tonight. Lots of new and different things going this year with a design competition, more on trend items than we've ever had, and designers from all over the region.

"We're really excited about tonight and we're going to take this energy right into the Raiders game on Sunday."

KCTV5 sports reporter and "Chiefs Rewind" locker room correspondent Dani Welniak played the role of on-stage host for the event.

"It's just an incredible opportunity, not only for me, but also for the Kansas City area," Welniak said. "For the Chiefs to be a part of this Kansas City Fashion week, this is the fifth year they're getting to do this … I really want to see all of the different styles that these Kansas City fashion Week designers do."

In addition to exclusive runway shows displaying the newest Chiefs apparel for the 2016 season, five designers from throughout the Kansas City area had an opportunity to showcase their latest lines of apparel and fashion.

Current and former Chiefs cheerleaders, Chiefs Ambassadors and even Gracie and Ava, the daughters of Clark and Tavia Hunt, walked the runway as models for the Chiefs part of the festivities.

"As a mother, my favorite part is watching my two girls walk the show down the runway," Tavia said. "They're very excited about that. It's fun for us as a family to have them get to be a part of it. And Gracie, our oldest who is 17, is a spoke-model for the juniors' line which she's done an amazing job with.

"As a Chiefs fan, I think it's seeing all the different ways that people showcase their fandom through fashion. And so everybody has a different personal style. There are so many pieces in the line that are amazing and on trend.

"To see how people choose them and make them their own is one of the most fun thing things about tonight for me."
